CONDOLENCE MESSAGE - H.E. Sidya Touré

Issued September 26, 2026

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

The Secretariat of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP) extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and supporters of H.E. Sidya Touré, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea, President of the Union of Republican Forces (UFR), and a founding member of ADAFP.
Sidya Touré was a distinguished Guinean political leader and a committed advocate for democratic governance, political pluralism, and freedom. His contribution to Guinea’s public life and to the broader democratic and liberal movement in Africa will be remembered with respect.
As the leader of a founding member party of ADAFP, he, together with UFR, contributed to the vision of bringing African democratic and progressive forces together around the principles of freedom, democracy, the rule of law, human dignity, and African cooperation.
At this difficult moment, the ADAFP Secretariat stands in solidarity with his family, the leadership and members of UFR, and the people of Guinea.
May his legacy of public service and commitment to democratic values continue to inspire those working for a freer, more democratic, and prosperous Africa.
