ADAFP's pan-African research and policy institution, hosted at the University of Johannesburg. Produces independent, evidence-based research on democratic governance, human rights, and inclusive development across all 54 African states, publishing in five languages across four research clusters: Democratic Governance, Economic Development, Rights & Social Justice, and Peace & Security.
Permanently headquartered in Monrovia, the Academy is ADAFP's principal instrument for developing the next generation of African democratic leaders — through a residential fellowship, a Women's Leadership Track, a Youth Democracy Bootcamp, and online short courses, delivered in ADAFP's four working languages with guaranteed gender parity.
ADAFP Foundation
The ADAFP Endowment Fund safeguards the Alliance's long-term financial independence, ensuring its democratic mission is never dependent on any single funder. The Fund is built through direct contributions from ADAFP's investment partnerships — including a share of net annual dividends received through the ADAFP Investment Company (AIC) — and sustains core operations, member solidarity programs, and the continued work of ADAFP's institutions, including the Think Tank and the Leadership Training Academy.
EMOD is ADAFP's institutional mechanism for defending electoral integrity and democratic governance across Africa. The department deploys trained observer missions to elections in member countries, conducts electoral integrity assessments, provides capacity building to democratic actors, and engages in policy advocacy with the African Union, regional economic communities, and national governments.

ADAFP's technology institution. It helps member organizations build their online presence and IT capacity, provides AI tools for research, drafting and translation, builds and maintains ADAFP's election technology, and develops member-controlled data systems and digital security training.
ADAFP's dedicated investment vehicle, supporting the Alliance's long-term financial independence and economic initiatives. Its products include the Africa Investment and Development Fund (AIDF), a pan-African investment fund now being established.
