Empowering Young Women to Lead: Advancing Democratic Values in Liberia
The Secretary General of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP), Eddie D. Jarwolo, today, April 15, 2026 engaged young women in politics and civil society on the Alliance’s Governance Charter highlighting its core values, mission, and commitment to advancing liberal, progressive, and democratic ideals across Africa.
Speaking at the Academy for Women’s Leadership and Empowerment training in Liberia, the session brought together over 30 young women from political parties and civil society organizations. Participants expressed strong interest in the Alliance’s vision and its role in shaping inclusive governance on the continent.
The Secretary General also delivered a lecture on leadership and youth political participation, emphasizing the critical role of young people in strengthening Liberia’s democracy. As a continental platform, ADAFP seeks to unite liberal, progressive, and democratic forces across Africa to advance accountable governance and sustainable development.
