Activity in Grand Bassa County University in Liberia

Issued May 13, 2026
May 13, 2026, At the Grand Bassa County University in Liberia, the Secretary General of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP), Eddie D. Jarwolo, who also serves as Executive Director of Naymote Partners for Democratic Development, engaged over 100 students in a high-impact civic education session focused on Liberia’s national development agenda and accountable democratic leadership.
The session provided a platform to deepen students’ understanding of national development priorities while introducing them to ADAFP’s mission and vision, as well as the proposed ADAFP Leadership Academy to be established in Liberia. The engagement emphasized the critical role of young people in shaping democratic governance, strengthening civic responsibility, and contributing to national development outcomes.
He further committed to sustained partnership with the university and, in consultation with its leadership, proposed the establishment of a campus-based democracy, governance, and leadership initiative. This program is designed to institutionalize continuous civic learning, expand extracurricular leadership development opportunities, and equip students with practical skills and values essential for accountable leadership and democratic consolidation.
The engagement formed part of Naymote’s broader national civic education programming, which seeks to strengthen citizens’ awareness of the government’s development agenda and its alignment with county-level priorities, while empowering students to actively participate in shaping inclusive and accountable governance systems.
