ADAFP Commits to Advancing Democratic Governance and Launches Strategic Initiatives

The African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP) today concluded a high-level strategic engagement in South Africa, bringing together members of its leadership and key partners to strengthen collaboration, align priorities, and advance coordinated democratic action across the continent. The meeting focused on developing practical strategies to support accountable governance, electoral integrity, institutional strengthening, and inclusive political participation in Africa.
As part of its commitment to translating vision into action, ADAFP announced the launch of several flagship initiatives, including the ADAFP Endowment Fund, Youth Leadership Academy, Think Tank, and Election Support Force. These initiatives are intended to strengthen democratic institutions, support political reform actors, invest in youth leadership development, and enhance policy research and electoral preparedness across member countries.
Speaking at the conclusion of the engagement, the Secretary General, Eddie D. Jarwolo described the meeting as a major step toward building stronger continental partnerships for democratic progress. “This engagement demonstrates our collective commitment to advancing democratic governance through practical cooperation, strategic leadership, and sustainable institutions. ADAFP is determined to transform shared values into measurable impact for the people of Africa,” the Secretary General stated.
Dr. Mmusi Maimane, President of ADAFP, reaffirmed the Alliance’s commitment to credible, ethical, and reform-oriented leadership across Africa. “ADAFP was founded on the belief that Africa’s democratic future must be built on strong institutions, accountable leadership, and collective action. We are mobilizing democratic actors across the continent to deliver tangible results, strengthen public trust, and advance a new generation of principled and people-centered governance,” Dr. Maimane stated
