ADAFP Participates in RenewPAC Summit 2026, Strengthening Liberal Partnerships in a Multipolar World

(April 4, 2026) The African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP) is pleased to announce the participation of its Deputy Secretary, Mr. Adil Abdel Aati, alongside Coordinator, Mr. Jawad Chafil, in the RenewPAC Summit 2026 held in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco. The delegation also attended a welcome dinner hosted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF).

Convened under the theme, “Resilience and Renewal: Building Liberal Partnerships in a Multipolar World,” the summit brought together liberal leaders, policymakers, and democratic actors from across Africa, Europe, and beyond to deliberate on shared challenges and opportunities in advancing democratic governance.

During the summit, ADAFP representatives actively engaged with delegates, presenting the Alliance’s vision, mission, and core values, while exploring avenues for strategic collaboration. High-level bilateral discussions were held with distinguished leaders, including Wavel Ramkalawan, Cellou Dalein Diallo, Luis Padilla Macabeo, Jan-Christoph Oetjen, Urmas Paet, as well as other policymakers, and representatives of partner organizations from Africa and Europe.

In his intervention during the opening session, Mr. Abdel Aati underscored the fragility of the global security architecture and emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation between Africa and Europe. He called for increased international support for Africa’s representation, including a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, and expressed support for the candidacy of H.E. Macky Sall for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations, as part of broader efforts toward inclusive and balanced global governance.

The participation of ADAFP at the RenewPAC Summit 2026 provided a valuable platform to showcase the Alliance as a pan-African initiative committed to uniting liberal, democratic, and progressive political parties and civil society actors. The engagement further strengthened ADAFP’s role in promoting democratic values, fostering partnerships, and advancing sustainable and inclusive development across the continent.
