Official Declaration of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress ADAFP
Africa stands at a crossroads:
Faced with pressing challenges—from institutional fragility to the critical need for inclusive economic growth—a new political platform is essential. Today marks a historical turning point for democracy and good governance on our continent.
African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress is officially established on the initiative of several dynamic political parties, elected officials, emerging leaders, and organizations united by a common vision: an Africa that is open, prosperous, and just.
This new pan-African force brings together movements that believe in a Third Way: one of modern governance that combines individual liberty and innovation (Liberalism) with the imperatives of social justice and equity (Progressivism). ADAFP is the catalyst for structured dialogue and collective action toward a stable and resilient African future.
A Pan-African Network for 21st Century Leadership
ADAFP is committed to spearheading change through the following actions:
* Promote Integrity Entrenching the cardinal values of freedom, genuine democracy, transparency, and the independence of the judiciary across the continent.
* Strengthen Agents of Change Developing the operational capacity of political parties and civic movements that share a modern vision for Africa.
* Generate Inclusion Actively encouraging and financing the participation of youth and women as future leaders in public life and democratic institutions.
* Federate Reforms Building solid bridges between liberal and progressive actors to drive meaningful and lasting reforms within member states.
* Mobilize International Solidarity Creating strategic partnerships with international foundations, organizations, and donors who share our commitment to democratic development.
* support the implementation of the African Agenda 2063
Modern and Transparent Governance
To ensure its credibility and sustainability, ADAFP is governed by a strict Governance Charter which guarantees:
* Total independence in decision-making.
* A rich internal pluralism that respects regional diversity.
* Uncompromising financial transparency.
* The democratic rotation of leadership roles.
Next Step
A first Constitutive General Assembly will be convened in the coming months in
to elect the Executive Committee and Advisory Council, adopt the final Charter, and establish the 2026–2030 strategic roadmap.
Call for Commitment and Unity
Africa deserves strong, credible, and responsible voices capable of relentlessly defending the Rule of Law, an open, job-creating economy, and sustainable development that benefits all without exclusion.
ADAFP issues a solemn call for membership:
We invite all agents of change—political parties, civic organizations, bold young leaders, and economic and academic partners—to join this continental movement without delay. Together, let us build the modern, democratic, and prosperous Africa we wish to bequeath to future generations.
