The Africa Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress is a Pan-African, non-profit, and non-partisan association founded to close the persistent gap between political ideals and electoral success in Africa.
Across the continent, democratic, liberal, and progressive movements often possess strong visions for freedom and development but lack the organizational tools, technical expertise, and coordinated support needed to translate these ideals into tangible political victories. The ADAFP was created to bridge this divide — turning conviction into competence, and solidarity into results.
We operate as a practical platform for cooperation, capacity building, and democratic support, bringing together political parties, civic organizations, and individual leaders committed to advancing democracy, good governance, and inclusive development in Africa.
Our activities focus on three core areas:
- Capacity Building: Training and mentoring campaign teams, emerging leaders, and party structures to run professional, ethical, and effective political operations.
- Campaign Support: Providing technical, strategic, and logistical assistance to democratic actors during electoral periods.
- Post-Electoral Governance: Strengthening institutions, policy design, and governance practices to ensure that democratic victories deliver tangible results for citizens.
Our Principles
The Africa Solidarity Group is guided by a set of enduring principles that reflect both its liberal democratic foundation and its Pan-African mission:
- Pan-African Solidarity:
We believe that the struggle for democracy and freedom in one African country strengthens them across the entire continent. Our solidarity knows no borders. - Practical Assistance and Capacity Building:
ADAFP focuses on solutions, not slogans. We offer concrete tools, skills, and experiences that help African democrats win elections and govern effectively. - Transparency and Accountability:
We uphold the highest standards of integrity in all our operations, promoting ethical leadership and responsible governance. - Gender and Youth Inclusion:
We are committed to ensuring that women and young people — the majority of Africa’s population — are not just participants, but leaders in shaping Africa’s democratic future.
Our Vision
A free, democratic, and prosperous Africa, where ideas and integrity triumph over manipulation and division — and where political competition strengthens, rather than undermines, the common good.
Our Mission
To empower Africa’s democratic actors through solidarity, training, and technical assistance — helping them build strong movements, win elections, and govern with accountability and purpose.
