Modou Diagne Fada is a Senegalese politician and party leader known for his long-standing role in national politics, his parliamentary experience, and his leadership within reform-oriented opposition movements. He is the founder and current president of the Les Démocrates Réformateurs – Yeesal, a party created after his departure from the Parti Démocratique Sénégalais, where he previously held senior responsibilities.
Fada emerged as a significant figure within Senegal’s political scene through the PDS, serving as member of Parliament, president of the Parliamentary Group of the Liberal Party, former Minister, holding several government portfolios during Abdoulaye Wade’s presidency.
He became particularly known for his reformist positions inside the PDS, which eventually led to political tensions with the party leadership.
Following internal conflict and his exclusion from the PDS, he founded Les Démocrates Réformateurs – Yeesal, positioning it as a modern, reform-driven political party focused on: democratic governance,
social responsibility, youth engagement and institutional reform.
