About the Leader
Dr. Ayman Nour (born 1964) is a prominent Egyptian liberal politician, former member of Parliament, and founder of the El Ghad (Tomorrow) Party. He is best known for running against Hosni Mubarak in Egypt's 2005 presidential election, subsequently facing imprisonment on politically motivated charges before going into exile in Istanbul following the 2013 coup.
Dr. Nour He was a leading opposition figure who founded the El Ghad party and later the Ghad el-Thawrah party. He was imprisoned for over three years following his 2005 presidential bid.
]Since 2015, he has lived in Istanbul, Turkey, where he remains a critic of the government of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He is a lawyer by profession and was active in the early stages of the January 25th revolution that led to the downfall of Hosni Mubarak.
