The ADAFP Leadership Training Academy is ADAFP's principal instrument for human capital development — permanently headquartered in Monrovia, Republic of Liberia. Our mission is to identify, train, and mentor the next generation of African liberal and democratic leaders, with a special focus on youth and women.
Competitive fellowship and mentorship programmes for emerging political leaders, activists, and civil society professionals across ADAFP member countries.
All flagship programmes delivered in ADAFP's four working languages — English, French, Arabic, and Portuguese — ensuring no African leader is excluded.
Modules on liberal democratic theory, governance, economic policy, campaign management, constitutional law, and pan-Africanism.
At least 50% female participation in all Academy programmes, with a dedicated youth leadership track for participants aged 18–35.
Flagship residential fellowship for 30 fellows per cohort from ADAFP member countries. Covers liberal democracy, governance, campaign strategy, and economic policy.
Starting Q1 2027Dedicated intensive for 20 women political leaders per cohort, with priority to underrepresented regions. Mentored by senior ADAFP women leaders.
Starting Q2 2027Intensive programme for 40 activists and student leaders per edition. Covers advocacy, media literacy, civic engagement, and community organising.
Starting Q3 2027Self-paced digital modules on electoral law, public speaking, policy writing, and digital campaigning. Open to all ADAFP members and partners.
Launching Q4 2026Public announcement by President Mmusi Maimane in Monrovia. Confirmation of Director-General Eddie D. Jarwolo. Launch of Academy website and press release in four languages.
Legal registration in Liberia. Office establishment in Monrovia. Appointment of core staff. MoU with University of Liberia and ECOWAS partners. Launch of online short courses.
Curriculum development for all four programme tracks. First cohort of Fellows Programme announced. Women's Leadership Track admissions open. Academic Council constituted.
First residential Fellows cohort in Monrovia. Inaugural Youth Democracy Bootcamp. Women's Leadership Track first cohort. Continental alumni network launched.
