Information
The Pan-African Observatory for Prevention, Equity, Citizenship and Civic Responsibility (OPECC) is a nonprofit organization, active particularly in Senegal, dedicated to promoting responsible citizenship, ethical conduct, and the fight against incivility in public and community life. Led by Mariétou Dieng, OPECC works through partnerships to strengthen civic awareness and social responsibility.
OPECC focuses on building a culture of civility and equity, preventing behaviors that undermine social cohesion, encouraging responsible citizenship in both public institutions and local communities.
The organization collaborates with public actors and civil society groups to conduct awareness campaigns, educational programs, and online events such as webinars.
(OPECC) has worked with groups like the Collectif Citoyen pour une Urgence d’Action Publique, engaging citizens on issues of public ethics and civic duty.
Under the presidency of Mariétou Dieng, OPECC has positioned itself as an advocate for civic education, integrity, and community-centered reform across Senegal and broader African contexts.
OPECC is part of a wider continental movement promoting solidarity, respect for common rules, integrity in public life, and stronger civic cultures across Africa.
